Language Development

So I must say that since having Claire, I am very interested in language development. It is so fascinating to listen to her talk to herself while she is playing or the random conversations in the car. It's actually quite interesting how much she understands and takes in. Let's just say there have been alot "where did she come up with that?" lately. I just wanted to share some of Claire's latest, most fascinating and amusing conversations.

"Birfday party you!" She says this as she brings you a "gift" usually something from her kitchen.

"Barbara change Mason~ P-U stinky!!" Love this one, usually get it while changing her.

"Keepin eyes open, me see buses" I told her once that if she kept her eyes open and looked around she would see a school bus or MTA.

"Who dat lady, Mommy" Today after we finished talking to our next door neighbor who she hadn't seen all winter.

"Me see bridge Mommy," "Me goin tunnel?" She LOVED going through the Harbor tunnel last week on our way to a baby shower.

"Mommy, me down the basement?" She really enjoys helping me with laundry jobs.

"Me fun, with(insert name here, depends on who she was just with)" Most recently it was Auntie J.

"No Daddy, no tickle me!!" she often says this as she goes back for more, LOL.

"Me fun, Mommy tudents." She went to work with me one day and has been talking about it ever since.

" Mommy keys Daddy...Mommy dwiven wit Mommy's keys" She really dislikes when her Daddy drives my car with my keys. She doesn't care when he drives it with his keys, just mine.

"Me marky Mommy," she says as she points to the mark on her arm from her blood work appointment. "Lady did it"

"NO way Mommy, NO way!!"

"Waid, for me!"

There are PLENTY more where these came from just had to share :-)

Two Year Stats!!

Today Claire had her Two year appointment and it was FANTASTIC!! She is the picture of health.
She is 36.25 inches in the 96%
Her weight is 28 lbs in the 68%(the highest she has EVER been!!)
Head circumference 18.5 inches only in the 35%
Our pedi would like to keep her on her asthma medication for a bit longer to see how she fairs through the first big bloom of the season, then we will talk about weening in order to see how she does.
BONUS: no shots this time :-)

Digging!

Today I got the brilliant idea that we needed to start our Spring landscaping projects. Seeing as though yesterday was the first day of Spring, I thought it appropriate. Especially considering how BEAUTIFUL it was this weekend(we will pay for it tomorrow :-(. Claire had a blast digging in the dirt. She did a great job too, she even helped us transfer our Hydrangea's from one side of the house to the other. She also helped us removed a boatload of crabgrass(I HATE that stuff). Here are some pictures of our fun.

Dressed and ready for some dirty work!

Stopping to smell the dandelions.
Auntie J tried to explain that they were
just weeds, but I don't think Claire cared.

Helping her Daddy remove a diseased
rosebushes root.

She is sooo cute!

Raking through what was left of the crabgrass
and preparing for the hydrangea move.

Refueling on PB&J crackers.
