Gun Powder State Park

Our last day of Spring break was bitter sweet. We enjoyed great times with family and friends as well as completing some home projects and getting a NEW fridge!! But all good things must come to an end and so we spent our last day getting chores done and taking advantage of the BEAUTIFUL weather. Claire is very interested in being outside(well, who isn't?) so we decided that she was ready for hiking. In small doses, of course.
So off to Gun Powder we went! She had an INCREDIBLE time sloshing through the mud, it happens to be one of her favorite activities, hiking or not :-) The foliage was gorgeous and I could have stayed there all day....unfortunately, Claire's long but still little legs gave up around the 3/4 mile mark(pretty good for a wee one at least, I think!) At this point she said to me: "Mommy, my legs do not want to walk anymore." So off her shoes came and we walked back to the car with her high upon my shoulders.

Jumping off a tree root.

Hanging out on a tree trunk.

"Look Mommy, I'm running in the woods!"

Simply BEAUTIFUL!

My little mud runner!

I really wish that this picture came out clearer
but alas it did not. It is ADORABLE in spite of that though!

Claire and her Daddy enjoying the view.

She is tiny compared to those trees!

Taking in the beauty of the water.

Playing in that beautiful water ;-)

"Mommy, I wanna climb this tree"

She truly enjoyed our journey today.
She has already asked when we are going to the woods again.

"Mommy, I am so sleepy"

Easter weekend!

Our holiday weekend started out with dying some eggs at home before we traveled up to Pa. And there we had a FABULOUS time!! So fabulous that I actually took 175 pictures. Claire loved hanging out with her cousins and she practically worships Rhys :-) We also got to meet the newest addition to the animal clan. Olivia. Claire adores her and said herself. "Mommy, I love Olivia!" Brian even thinks she is a sweetie pie, now that's saying something!!
The kids enjoyed an egg hunt on Saturday, although it was a wee bit chilly. It seemed like the kids did not even notice the cold. Then, we headed up the road to see Mommom and take her out to dinner.
On Sunday, the beloved bunny graced the children with what seemed like a TON of candy, and some other special treats. I am so disappointed though....because out of ALL of the pictures that were taken, I did not get one with their Easter best on. Well I can assure you they all looked ADORABLE! After church, we celebrated the rest of the day with good food and family time. Enjoy!

Patches, Claire and Brian dying eggs

Precision was the name of the game....
Claire said they "look perfect!!"

Anya hitching a ride on her Daddy's shoulders

Anya was so cute trying to figure out which egg she wanted to choose.

Orange won!

Claire on the other hand said for certain,
before we even got to the hunting spot that
"I am going to get a PINK one, Mommy!"
And that she did!
Mmmm, hot chocolate to warm our insides.

Waiting to see the Easter Bunny!

Claire was having a jolly ol' time laughing at something that Rhys was doing on the ground.
Love the expressions on their faces in this shot.

Far cry from last year when all she did was.....well, cry.
This year it was Anya's turn to be terrified of Mr. Bunny.

Enjoying a lollipop!

Dinner with Mommom at Friendly's.
Not sure what the anti-smiling is of late but its getting frustrating!

Easter morning LOOT!

Anya checking out her spoils.

"Look Rhys, I got a carrot!!"

Not sure what happened to the exposure on this one
but it came out ADORABLE!

Feeding the fish!

"Aw, Mommy I love 'livia!

Discovering what the bunny left at Grams and Poppy's house.

JELLY BEANS!

The bunny even made it possible for Anya to enjoy some chocolate!

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!
The kids got to use Mommoms wheel chair for some speed trials.

Which of course they LOVED!

Mommom with each one of her Great-grandchildren!
Again, I have the anti-smiler :-(
